When my wife refused to acknowledge our daughter at the sports day, I divorced her on the spot Chapter 02

Chapter 02

“She is my mommy! She’s not Zhu Hao’s!”
The crowd erupted into mocking laughter.

“Kid, stop daydreaming. A woman like CEO Liang isn’t someone you and your father could ever deserve.”
“Look how happy their family is! How dare you try to steal his mom? You’re just jealous!”

Ahead of us, Zhu Hao turned around and glared at my daughter.
“She’s my mommy, Mu Tian! Stop lying!”
“You’re the orphan with no mom. Loser!”

My daughter’s eyes filled with tears, her lip trembling as she fought to stay brave.
“I do have a mommy… she’s mine…”

I pulled her close, shooting a icy look at Zhu Yang.
“Control your son, Mr. Zhu. If he’s this cruel at his age, what kind of monster will he grow into?”

Zhu Yang patted his son’s head, smirking.
“My boy’s telling the truth. Your daughter’s a motherless brat trying to steal ours. Have some shame.”
“As a fellow parent, I’ll advise you: Remarry soon. Stop letting your kid wander around like a lost tadpole begging for a mom. It’s pathetic.”

The crowd cackled. Even the children giggled, chanting:
“Mu Tian’s a tadpole looking for a mommy!”

I turned to Liang Mei.
Our daughter was being humiliated because of her, yet she sat silently, refusing to intervene.
“Liang Mei. This is your last chance. Explain. Now.”

My daughter sobbed into my chest, her small body shaking. Each cry felt like a knife twisting in my heart.

Liang Mei didn’t even flinch.
She frowned coldly.
“I don’t know what you’re trying to achieve, sir, but if you continue harassing my family, I’ll have security remove you.”
“This is your final warning. Leave.”

With that, she turned her back on us, Zhu Yang and Zhu Hao following suit.

A spectator sneered:
“CEO Liang’s too patient. I’d have thrown them out already.”
“No wonder she’s the top entrepreneur in Haiyun City.”
“These two losers should know their place. A single dad with a kid? He’s got nothing to offer.”

My daughter looked up at me, her face red and tear-streaked.
“Daddy… is Mommy sick? Why doesn’t she know us anymore?”

I wiped her tears, my resolve hardening.
“Tian-Tian, listen carefully. Liang Mei isn’t your mommy anymore. She doesn’t deserve to be.”

She stared at me, confused and heartbroken.

My phone buzzed again.
Liang Mei:
“Mu Jun, stop embarrassing yourself. I told you—it’s just one day pretending to be Zhu Hao’s mom. Have some compassion.”
“If I acknowledge you publicly, what would people think of me? Of Zhu Yang?”
“Could you ever think about anyone but yourself?”

Who’s the selfish one here?

I laughed bitterly, my fingers flying across the screen:
“Enjoy your ‘family’ while you can. By tomorrow, Shengxing Group won’t exist without my funding.”

I silenced my phone and held my daughter tighter.
The games began, but we didn’t stay.

As we walked out, I whispered to her:
“Let’s get ice cream. And… maybe adopt a puppy. One that’ll never leave us.”

She sniffled, managing a small nod.
Behind us, the applause for Liang Mei’s “perfect family” faded into silence.
